Food experiences in the heart of the forest
NIELU FOREST RESTAURANT
Nielu Forest Restaurant, which served customers in 2019 and 2021, served a 5-course dinner built around wild herbs and local ingredients in the national landscapes of Nuuksio. Located in the middle of the forest, the restaurant's dining room offered not only a great experience but also an opportunity to protect the ancient Finnish forest under threat of logging.
The multi-sensory experience restaurant, built under the direction of chef Valtteri Sinkkonen, won the Food and Tourism Product of the Year 2021 award.
The restaurant has closed for now in Nuuksio, but we hope that it will continue in the future.

TASTES AND TASTES OF THE FOREST TRIP
Finns have always had their own deep relationship with the forest and Nielu sought to find new ways to connect with nature. Recently, the importance of forests has become increasingly important in the debate on climate change and biodiversity.
PROTECT THE FOREST
Nielu protected one square metre of Finnish evergreen forest for every portion served. They donated the money needed to protect one square metre to the Natural Heritage Foundation. These funds will be used to save the Finnish evergreen forest under threat of logging.
