In 1845, Emperor Nicholas I ordered the construction of a ranger's house with a bedroom on the ridge. The house later grew into Finland's oldest state hotel, which is now known internationally as Hotel Punkaharju.

Take a refreshing walk on your own in the ridge landscape, rent a bike for the day, explore the area's cultural offerings, exhibitions and events, or sign up for a mushroom hike in Saim. Punkharju is full of interesting places to visit, so you can easily fill a whole week as our guest. But the most important thing is that you enjoy yourself and have fun.
