Panorama Landscape Hotel room description

"We are a hotel, but in many ways more memorable than the best experiences. We've done our utmost to make sure that only you have the most beautiful horizon.

We do this for the sake of our family, but above all for the sake of friendship and endless joy."

RESPECTING HISTORY

Tahkovuori Tourist Centre was founded in the late 1960s by travel agent Kalevi Keihänen and newspaper publisher Urpo Lahtinen. A third partner in the project was the writer and film director Jörn Donner.

Setting up a ski centre in Nilsi required foolhardiness and a broad vision. Pekka Reinikka, a forester who was lured to the top of Tahko on Boxing Day 1969, experienced a breathtaking moment. He was stunned by the magnificent view from the top - and so have tourists for more than 50 years.

From this location, the Panorama Landscape Hotel's restaurant and rooms overlook a fragmented landscape of green forests, a shimmering lake and small islands.

Metsäkylpylä Lähtee also has its roots in history. In the early 1970s, the soft drink Donner-Wasser was bottled from Tahkovuori's famous spring water.

CHECK OUT THE SERVICES

Experiences are made to be found and life is made to be enjoyed. Below you'll find the best tips on what the region has to offer, from dining to shopping.

EAT

Havu Kitchen & Bar is a restaurant located at the top of Tahko, where Scandinavian purity meets Eastern woodland. The atmospheric restaurant serves seasonal dishes made from raw ingredients. Havu Kitchen's tasting menus consist of both four- and six-course dinners.

DO

Tahko offers a wide range of activities all year round. Our hotel is ski-in ski-out, so you can access the slopes directly from the steps of your landscaped suite. In summer, cycling is one of the most popular sports. Mountain bike trails run along varying altitude differences and take you to some of the most spectacular scenery.

RELAX

Forest Spa Lähde brings the seasons close, as all saunas and pools are located outdoors. The Nokisauna offers soft, smoky baths and the Landscape Sauna has a stunning view of the lake. In addition to the stunning views, the Latva sauna has the wonderful smell of a wood-fired sauna.

FOR THE LOVE OF FOOD

Chef Kim Mustonen came to Tahko through many stages after travelling the world from Seoul to New York. Her experience and development of the restaurant concept has been noticed and Havu Kitchen & Bar is on the Top50 list of the best restaurants in Finland.

"I'm excited to make a Finnish food revolution in a place where the ingredients are genuinely sourced from the forest on the other side of the wall, while the people next door dance carnivals until dawn," Kim says.

FOREST SPA SOURCE

The architecture of the spa is the brainchild of award-winning architect Sami Rintala, who also designed the Arctic Hideway on the Arctic Ocean.

The inspiration has been a spring bubbling under Tahkovuori Mountain. Fresh and clean water can be enjoyed both in the spa and bottled.

HORISONTTI

The view from the top of Tahko is the most spectacular part of the hotel and the reason for its existence. Every morning the landscape is painted in a new way and every evening is tinged with the night.
