PART OF THE ANCIENT SAGA
The rooms at the Ellin Inn echo the themes of mysticism, the events blend into Finno-Ugric folklore and the Loihtua facilities are built to take the guest towards nature and within.
AT THE HEART OF COMMUNITY
The core themes of Loihtua's kekri are local food, community and mysticism. An experiential dinner set in the middle of the forest is a gathering of people, guided by traditional rituals and music.
A WEALTH OF TRADITIONAL FESTIVALS
Dinner is laid out in the woods, in the Kekri tradition, and is plentiful and generous so that there is something for the spirits to eat after the party people have left.
END OF THE YEAR PARTY
Kekri is the autumn celebration of the completion of the harvest and the harvest season for farmers, with roots going back thousands of years in European agriculture.
RESPECTING THE SPIRITS
During the Kekri, the boundary between the dead and the living narrows. Guests can celebrate the special occasion by dressing up in themed feathers, furs and flowers.
A CELEBRATION OF CHANGE
Kekri is also a traditional Finnish celebration of breakthrough, remembrance and thanksgiving, with tables laden with forest bounty and flowing with saffron.
FLAMING TORCHES
Towards dinner, you will pass through the Gate of the Magi towards the magical ceremonial room. The melodies of the lyres and the sound of the drum will escort guests to the banquet table.

Kekri is a journey into our own past, into traditions that have almost been forgotten. Kekri combines many of the familiar commercial celebrations, but its depth and beauty is something more.
